About

I'm Laurance, an undergraduate at National Taiwan University studying Information Management. In September 2026 I'm moving to London for a year as a visiting student in Finance at LSE, funded by Taiwan's Ministry of Education.

What I keep coming back to is the space where finance meets computation: teaching machines to read what managers say on earnings calls, letting genetic algorithms hunt for trading signals, and asking whether any of it survives contact with out-of-sample data.

Before research pulled me in, I spent a year running a student association, which taught me that budgets, people, and incentives are harder problems than most algorithms.

This site is where I write things down: research notes in English, and notes on studying abroad in Chinese. If you want the formal version of my background, email me and I'll send a CV.
